About the artist
Adolf Hengeler (1863-1927) was a German painter and illustrator known for his works in the Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) style. Born in Kaufbeuren, Bavaria, Hengeler initially pursued studies in law but eventually shifted to art, studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He became a prominent member of the Munich Secession, a group of artists who rejected traditional academic art standards in favor of more progressive approaches.
